AMY NAM
Meet Amy Nam, a 16-year-old activist working in youth education. Having seen and experienced the harmful consequences of growing up in a Eurocentric learning environment, she aims to promote and enforce a school curriculum that represents all communities, challenges students' biases, and instills in them a sense of social justice. In this campfire session, Amy will explain her motivations for specifically working in the realm of youth education, outline the importance of a diverse and anti-bias curriculum, and describe her most notable work in activism: founding and leading The Reclamation Project (TRP). TRP is a nonprofit organization that seeks to foster generations of informed, empowered, and anti-prejudiced people through its three core pillars: education, advocacy, and amplification.
